About us

Janet, Ted and Tamsin Conyers are the yard owners and with Tamsin's partner Darrell Torrens we hope to keep updating Weston's facilities, and keep making it a place people are happy to keep coming back to.

Tamsin Conyers

Having got her love of horses from her mum Janet, Tamsin has ridden all her life. She had ponies as a child and was a member of the West Kent Meopham branch of the Pony Club. Moving to Norfolk in 1985 she joined the West Norfolk branch where she achieved her B test. She always loved show jumping and got the ride on an old JA pony who showed her the ropes. After working for a point to point yard after gaining her BHS qualifications at college she decided to get out of Norfolk and trained for 6 months with Lars Sederholm and his family in Oxford. She then got a job with International rider James Fisher and rode and competed his novice horses. At that time she was looking after his World Cup horses, novice horses and keeping the yard going while he was competing abroad. After 4 years of being there it was time for a change so she went and worked for a rider jumping in the Florida Winter Festival. " Amazing place, i'v never seen anything like it." On returning to the UK she got a job with Duncan Inglis, top producer of young horses. This was where she met her " horse of a lifetime" My Life. She started riding her for Duncan when she came over from Germany as a 5 yr old and the partnership was formed. She bought her and never looked back. Leaving Duncan after a year and a half in Sussex she then spent a year with Stuart Harvey, riding lots of young horses and working on the yard but realising if she wanted to compete seriously in her own right she had to come home and set up her own yard. Coming back to Norfolk she started training towards becoming an Accredited coach for British Show Jumping. Gaining that and also her UKCC Level 3 specialising in show jumping. Tamsin and My Life competed all round the country and includes good places at Hickstead, Scope and many others. Their favorite venue being Royal Norfolk just down the road. My Life , now retired at 24 years old has had 3 foals and has settled down to a very pampered retirement and has pride of place in the barn. Al though she may have to come out of retirement and take part in veteran classes as she seems to have so much pep left in her she would like to sparkle in the show ring!

Having produced 2 top Grade A  mares Tamsin is now looking for her next top horse and is hoping one that she's bred will make it to the top.

Juliet Waller has been a great help to me over the years running our riding club. Her daughter rides their ponies that they keep at Weston and also competes our Anni. She has recently started full time work at Weston to help Dad out in the office, mange the staff and make sure i know what i'm doing! She is agreat asset to Weston EC.

Jess Lambert has just finished her level 3 apprenticeship at Weston. She has been here now for over 3 years and has really shown great initiative, loves working with the horses, and always has a smile on her face, even when the horses escape for the 3rd time in a day! She works well with the rest of my staff and always keeps me updated when i'm away at shows as to whats going on. She also loves to come to the stay away shows and helping me with the horses.  She has her own horse that she works hard with and is a very nice person to have around.

Imola Razzell has been working for us now for 2 years after doing her work experience here from school. She then went to farrier college as thats what she would love to do, however we are lucky so far that she can't find an apprenticeship and is looking after our horses. A great team player and owns the lovely grey Betty who we use to teach with as well, but she always takes part in our jumping competitions and usually wins a rosette.

Beth Wilkinson started as one of our clients and coming for lessons, and then she bought Beauty who we use in lessons and became a livery. Once she left school she started her Level 2 apprenticehip with us so is well into her first year. Also selling Beauty and buying one of my horses, Ivy, nearly 2 years now so is learning the ropes around her jumping courses. She's a lovely girl who cares for our horses well and is a pleasure to have on the yard.

Simone Hatch has been working for us now for over a year having completed her apprenticeships at other yards and is a valuable member of staff. She doesn't have her own horse but her dog Diesel is the love of her life. She wants to become an instructor and has her prelimimary qualifications and is working towards gaing her certificates so is teaching a few lessons under my supervision and is proving to be a kind and enthusiastic coach.
